Bar---The average age men and women retired in seven countries in 2004 and 2008

The two bar charts display the average age men and women retired in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and UK in 2004 and 2008.

In term of the average age of men, in 2004, the percentage was 63.5%, 63% 62.8%, 62.5%, 62%, 60% and 59% separately in Sweden, Netherlands, The UK, Denmark, Germany, Italy and France.

In 2008, Sweden had the largest percentage of 63.5%, which was followed by Netherlands (63%). The UK was listed the third (62.8%) and the proportion was 62.5%, 62%, 60% and 59% respectively in Denmark, Germany, Italy and France.

As to the Average age of women, in 2004, Sweden was the leading country with 63%, the Netherlands was the next (62%) and The UK ranked the third (61%). Germany, Italy, Denmark and France came last with 60.5 %, 59.9%, 59.7% and 58.7%. In 2008, Sweden rose to 63.4%, Netherlands increased to 62.5%, the UK ascended to 61.5%, Germany grew to 61%, Denmark went up to 60.5% and France climbed to 58.8 %, only the Italy decreased to 59.5%.

Overall, except Italy, the average age of men and women saw an upward trend in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and UK in 2004 and 2008.
