Development of rural area and urban area IELTS Writing P2
A rise in the standard of living in a country seems to only benefit cities than rural areas.
What problems might this difference cause?
How might the problems be reduced?
At present, some development of cities is faster than some development of rural areas in most developing countries. At the same time, it is well-known that a wide range of resource is brought to the urban areas, that led to urgent increase the standard of the living in urban area. Then there are so many issues of different fields would be generated in the society.
Firstly, focus on the development of urban areas, which would increase the pressure of rural areas. This pressure means people of rural areas would send more and more resources to the urban areas and meeting the requirement of city construction. On the other hand, causing by the city developing, increasingly of city-developing policies would be set up by the government, which would bring a lot of benefits and profits to cities. However, the development of rural areas often is underestimated. That would result in the low standard of living in rural areas, which include education, medical, entertainment or infrastructure etc.
Secondly, for the environmental problem in rural areas, because the sharp development of urban areas, which need plenty of wood resources and chemical industries where is majority located in rural areas. It is the main factor that arouses land contamination, water pollution and air pollution in rural areas. Besides this, excessive deforestation still is a big problem in the most rural areas, although, the wood resource is a renewable resource. But the growth of trees at least taking about 20 years. If we are not slow down the speed of deforestation, we would lose the forest in the near future.
How could we deal with those problems? In my opinion, it is very significant that we should balance the development of urban and rural. we cannot overuse the resource of rural areas to construct the city. In contrast, we should preserve the resource of rural areas, and focus on research of environmental-friendly materials.
Totally, rural areas are same important as urban areas, we cannot sacrifice anyone of this, moreover, we cannot even sacrifice the rural environment for the needs of economic development.
